The construction crew poured 20' x 40' tiltup
panels on the ground and with the assistance of a 250 ton crane lifted the
panels into place. There were a total of seventy-one, each weighing an average
of 45 tons. This project was constructed during the winter months and only took
four months to complete.

A helicopter from Construction Helicopters of,
Ypsilanti was utilized to move 23 heating and
air-conditions units onto the roof of the Home Depot department store. Each unit
weighed 2500 pounds. With the direction of Superintendent Alan Hugo, this
|
operation went off with no problems and was completed in
thirty-two minutes. By doing this task with a helicopter, J.R. Heineman was
able to move the project along more efficiently which was more cost effective
for the Owner.
